He Saved the Best Till Now

and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

John 2:9-10 (NIV)

The master of the banquet tasted it and called the groom over. Everybody serves the choice wine first, he said, but you have saved the best till now. He did not know where it came from, but the servants knew.

The world gives you its best up front and its cheap stuff later. Sin looks good at the start and leaves you with less. Imitations always run out.

Jesus works the other way. With Him, the best is still ahead. Ain't nothing like the real thang, and nothing can imitate what He pours into your life.

What imitation have you been settling for instead of what Jesus offers?

Lord, I am done settling for imitations. You are the real thing. I trust that what You have for me is better than anything I have tasted so far. Amen.
