When the Wine Runs Out

When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

John 2:3 (NIV)

The party was still going when the wine was gone. At a wedding in that day, running out was not a small mistake. It was a public embarrassment for a brand new family.

Life has a way of running dry in the middle of the celebration. The marriage that started sweet, or the joy you had when you first got saved. Something that used to be full is now empty.

Mary did not panic or try to fix it herself. She took it to Jesus. That is still the first move when your wine runs out.

Reflect

What in your life has run dry that you need to bring to Jesus?

Pray

Jesus, You see what has run out in my life. I am not hiding it or fixing it on my own. I am bringing it to You. Amen.

“When your wine runs out, take it to Jesus before you take it anywhere else.”
“Life can run dry right in the middle of the celebration.”
