Fill the Jars to the Brim

Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

John 2:7 (NIV)

Jesus told the servants to fill the jars with water, and they filled them to the brim. Twenty to thirty gallons a jar, carried by hand. They could have stopped halfway, and nobody would have known.

The servants had no idea that water was about to become wine. They just gave Jesus full jars. Half-hearted obedience leaves room He could have filled.

Whatever He asks you to bring this week, bring all of it. Fill it to the brim and let Him decide what it becomes.

Reflect

Where have you been giving God a half-full jar?

Pray

Jesus, I do not want to give You halfway. Take everything I bring, filled to the brim, and make it what You want it to be. Amen.

“Fill it to the brim and let Jesus decide what it becomes.”
“Half-hearted obedience leaves room He could have filled.”
