From “A Sweatless Victory”

Look Out Over the Valley

When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.

2 Chronicles 20:24 (NIV)

When Judah reached the overlook, they braced to see an army. Instead, they saw that the enemy was gone and no one had escaped. The thing they feared was already handled.

We spend so much energy dreading what might be on the other side of the hill. The hard conversation. The doctor's appointment. We picture the worst before we ever get there.

Keep walking toward the overlook. You may find that God has already dealt with what you were afraid to face.

Reflect

What are you dreading that God may have already handled?

Pray

Lord, calm my fears about what is ahead. Give me the faith to keep walking, trusting that You go before me. Amen.

“The thing they feared was already handled.”
