Alive While You Were Dead
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:5 (NIV)God "made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions." Dead people cannot help themselves. They cannot earn anything. They need life from outside.
That is why Paul says, "it is by grace you have been saved." You did not climb up to God. He reached down and breathed life into you.
If you are trying to earn what God has already given, rest today. Grace is not a reward for good work. It is life for dead people.
Reflect
Where are you still trying to earn what God has already given you?
Pray
Lord, thank You for making me alive when I could do nothing for myself. Help me rest in Your grace instead of my own effort. Amen.
“Grace is not a reward for good work. It is life for dead people.”
